It's been a journey
Growing up in France, my father would take me on visits to his friend, Mr. Martiniault. He owned a furniture and upholstery business and I would wander around the shop while they talked. I loved being surrounded by all that furniture being created and recreated. It became a hobby of mine and it stuck with me.
Many years later I reconnected with this through woodworking and upholstery classes at CCSF. I practiced on abandoned furniture from the streets of Bernal Heights and then started on some of our own pieces. One thing led to another and I found myself doing this for friends, and then for their friends and then for their friends' friends.
As the pandemic took hold, I started getting more requests and realized that this would be the next chapter in my life.
